Parish Outing to Emmaus Centre Ditchingham
One Sunday, after the parish service at the Minster, 25 excited parishioners set off in cars to Ditchingham to visit the Emmaus centre for the afternoon. Based at the former All Hallows Convent. Emmaus is an amazing venture which provides accommodation, work and training for homeless people. Furniture which has been restored by them is then sold in their shop along with lots of other bric-a-brac and other interesting items. There is also a lovely café run by the members of the community
We were met by Lynda, who gave us a really interesting tour of the buildings and grounds and told us some of the history of the site from its time as a convent and school. The whole complex is situated in beautiful grounds and lovely gardens, so we enjoyed our tea and cake outside and had fun wondering around the gardens. Everyone had a lovely time and we will be organising another trip out somewhere soon
