Mid-Norfolk writer tells stories for God
Ryta Lyndley, from Hockering, started writing because she believes God told her to, and she is now working on a comedy drama for TV
Ryta starts her story twenty years ago: “God kept asking me to write a book. As I had no experience of where to start and I was lacking the confidence to be able to complete such a mammoth task, I ignored the voice at first - until it became very insistent”
She eventually asked God what He wanted her to write about, and was told the title, “Small to Medium” so she knuckled down to the work in hand. She sat and wrote daily for three months and, 30,000 words later, completed an autobiography. It was self-published and was sold at local craft fairs
She has been told that this has inspired and encouraged others along their various paths. After selling 1000 copies it is now in its second print. She was asked for a sequel this is titled “Appointment to View”
Next, Ryta wrote four children’s books - The Brick Kiln Brook series - which are short animal stories about kindness, co-operation, and recycling. She enlisted the help of a man named Stuart who read the tales and drew beautiful fine art pictures to complement the stories. His skilful talent has been instrumental in helping her to sell five thousand copies so far
Ryta continues her story: “Whilst living in Northamptonshire a friend gave me gave a message from God saying that when I was aged seventy-seven I would have a comedy drama on TV. Seven years ago, I moved to Norfolk, and then five years ago another friend gave me the same message! And so I started looking for somebody to write it with, someone on the same wavelength, and with the same values as me
“Now I have found a lady who gives free writing classes (as I also give free yoga classes) and we like to feel we are being philanthropic in our passion to bring an uplifting, funny, positive and thought-provoking experience to television viewers”
Episodes one and two are complete, each an hour in length. Episode three is half-way and plots lines have been established for six episodes or more
“We are sure God has everything under his control, and all is going according to his plan” she concluded
