Free online Christian media workshop offered

A free online media workshop for churches and Christians across Norfolk, as part of Network Norfolk’s 20th anniversary year, will be held on Wednesday June 25

The online workshop will be held online from 7pm for 60 mins and be run by website editor Keith Morris and senior content editor Helen Baldry, for those people who could not make any of the in-person workshops. The workshop will cover topics aimed at helping churches and Christian organisations communicate their great work more effectively

Keith explains: "Each workshop is tailored to those attending it and it works best if people come with ideas about what they want to communicate"

Topics include some of:

  • How to tell your faith stories more effectively
  • What is a news story and how to write it.
  • Tips on writing a press release
  • Using different media channels to get your message out.
  • How to compose, take and edit a news picture.
  • Image and content copyright
  • The local media landscape

Attendees at recent in-person workshops were enthusiastic about them

Vicki Price from Imagine Norfolk Together said: "The workshop was great. It provided helpful and practical advice which would enable any church or Christian organisation to engage with the media

Sarah Colman-Mapes from All Saints, Beeston Regis, said: "We were given lots of useful pointers in media work and lots of food for thought"

David Griffiths from Banham Church and the Norwich Interfaith Forum, said: “It was very good and included both the basics and lots of practical information and discussion”

Places are free, but will be limited to make sure that we can engage fully with participants to help them get the most out of the interactive workshops

You can register for the online workshop, by emailing web@networknorwich.co.uk and stating your name and organisation / church
