Monday 8th December
Heavenly Father, I suppose we all have routines to our day, certain things that we do which we don't really think that much about, they just happen as a regular occurrence. When our world is shaken, then sometimes those routines have to change, certain things will never be the same again. Cooking and shopping for one, instead of two, for example. Having to think about, and do things, which we didn't previously
Yet, for me, in the midst of this turmoil and upheaval, one thing remains constant, my time with You; just as You remain constant in Your love for me. In starting my day with You, my shaky world is restored, the turmoil becomes peaceful, and despite all the upheaval, the ground is solid beneath my feet. Even though the days may seem dark and forbidding, Jesus is still the Light of the world, and the Son is still shining
Each day I can come into Your presence and be encouraged. Each day I can put on Your armour and despite the tears and heartache, I can be strengthened. Your Word tells me: "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power." It is not my strength or power that will get me through the day, it is Yours
The enemy would seek to take advantage of me in my times of sorrow, but I can be equipped. You tell me: "Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes." Thank You for the belt of Truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God
I know You will be with me and that I am ready to face the day and the 'new normal.' There is still so much beauty to be seen and enjoyed
