	Gospel singing rocks Freethorpe Chapel
	 Gospel singing rocks Freethorpe Chapel
The Happy Day Gospel Choir delighted the audience at the Methodist Chapel in Freethorpe during the charity gig

Last Saturday the Happy Day Gospel Choir, based in the Great Yarmouth area, brought a joyful performance to Freethorpe Methodist Chapel as they raised money for a local charity
From contemporary numbers like Shackles to old favourites such as Kum Bah Yah, the choir’s diverse playlist had something for everyone, including a particularly moving a cappella African song

The 21-member choir, supported by Andy, Eddie and LoLo who make up the band, had the chapel “rocking” by the time they reached their grand finale with I Will Call Upon the Lord and O Happy Day

The event also highlighted the important work of St Martin’s Housing Trust, which supports homeless individuals across Norwich and Norfolk. A total of £370.70 was raised on the night, with more donations pledged online

The concert was especially significant for several new choir members, who gave their debut live performance, and featured solo spots from various singers across the group

Audience members of all ages soaked up the joyful atmosphere and enjoyed refreshments during the interval

New members are invited to join the  choir for what Lolo Wynans, one of the founding members describes as "some uplifting, joyful, groovy (and usually slightly anarchic) Gospel singing!" She continues: "all are welcome to share the love and joy, regardless of age, ability, experience and beliefs"
