On Good Friday, 50 or so Christians met for an outdoor ecumenical service in Great Yarmouth marketplace People from The Minster kindly provided a warm welcome and free refreshments before we gathered outside at 12 noon. It was good to socialise beforehand The service was led by Ali James from the Salvation Army, Liz Hawes from the Church of England, and Judith Bell from the Methodist Church. Simon Ward from the Church of England prayed for us Liz Hawes did a fabulous job of playing the piano accordion for our worship. We sang beautiful songs of remembrance and adoration. Bible readings were taken from the gospel of Matthew in the New Testament It was good to have children at the event. They sang along, listened and did their best to keep their hands warm All age groups were present. It was a blessing to see older people there, particularly as standing outside in the breeze can be a challenge. They're a tough generation I encourage all readers to come to the event next year In the meantime, please keep praying for the people of Great Yarmouth. Let us pray for fellow Christians and the churches we represent. Keep encouraging one another dear brothers and sisters in Christ
