It is incredibly hard to write these letters to you at the moment dear friends - everything seems to be changing so much from one week to the next! Here we are in October, the circle of the year turning, as the weather changes and we head towards the end of the Church year too. In some ways, I’m sure many of us will be glad to get the year 2020 over and done with, looking forward to better and safer times

• I wonder, though, what we might find if we look for the positives of the year?

• What have we learned about ourselves, each other, and our communities that we can take forward to make a better future?

• What have we found to be truly important to our lives, our health, and our faith?

It’s probably a bit early to be thinking about New Year’s resolutions, but never too early (or too late!) to begin looking for the silver linings in this cloudy time. We have seen all the rainbows bursting out all around us, in people’s windows, on their clothes, even on the Minster flagpole! Whether they know it or not, people have celebrated and been comforted by that symbol of God’s unfailing love, even on the darkest days

Let’s look for the rays of sunshine which make a rainbow out of the storm, and see how we can magnify those rays, and help our world blossom and bloom by sharing the knowledge of that unfailing love with those around us by everything we do, and say, and think
