Bishop Graham to rededicate Norfolk Street Partnership
On 19th February the Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Revd Graham James, will rededicate the Norfolk Street Partnership, which will see numerous volunteers heading back to the streets to serve those in need during nights out
The service, which is taking place at St Stephen's Church at 7.30pm, is to mark the re-emergence of Norfolk Street Partnership (NSP) after just over a year of focused reorganisation and restructuring
Speaking on behalf of NSP, Chair of Trustees, Revd Deb Cousins said: "Although we returned to the streets just before Christmas, we wanted to ask God to seal all that he has done in the past, and to bless our future ministry alongside other agencies in the night time economy
"On behalf of the NSP Trustees I can safely say that this service will mark the culmination of over a year of heart search, prayer, hard work and commitment from everyone involved in NSP to get to this point in our journey when we can resume our active ministry as churches together on the streets of our county"
"During this time, I have been so impressed by the loyalty and patience of over 30 of our volunteers to support the Trustees, and to regularly attend our monthly volunteer meetings. I have personally valued the readiness of so many to share the considerable tasks to enable us to function on a much more modest scale than before
"Although we may be a small charity, we have a big heart for the ministry on the street to which we were originally called. We pray that as we return, working on a fortnightly Saturday rota, initially that we will inspire others to join us, both as Prayer Team as well as Street Team"
This service will mark a new chapter for NSP as an ecumenical Christian organisation, as well as being a hopeful and encouraging sign to the wider church, that, energised by power the Holy Spirit, the Christ light is being taken out to the streets again
NSP has a team who are prepared to give talks about their work. If you would like to know more about this, or NSP as a whole, please visit their website: www.nspuk.org
