Tuesday 29
th
April 2014
Last weekend, Kingsgate Community Church teamed up with Lisa Crook from the Environmental Health department of Great Yarmouth Borough Council, to help clean up Southtown
A group of about 20 church members spent Sunday morning cleaning up litter in the Lichfield area
"As a local church, we feel that it's important to serve our local community, and this time, we got together with Lisa to help make our neighbourhood a little tidier" said Simon Head from Kingsgate Community Church. "The weather was great for litterpicking, and it was nice to talk to the people who came out to see what we were up to"
Every month, Kingsgate sets aside one Sunday to do something different. In the past, this has included cleaning up the community centre's grounds in Southtown, and planting bulbs at Edward Worlledge Community School. Next month, the church is spending Sunday morning with a jazz band
The church meets every Sunday at 10am at the Kings Centre in Southtown. Everyone is welcome to come and see what's going on
