Great Yarmouth Seafarers Centre says ‘thank you’ to volunteers

fisdhchip 2017a7th December 2017

The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Malcolm Bird and his wife, Donna attended a fish and chip supper at the Great Yarmouth Seafarers Centre

Around twenty volunteers and directors welcomed Malcolm and Donna to an evening of fun, fellowship, and food reacquainting themselves with what the centre does, who they are there for, and combined with this, a wonderful fish and chip supper to enjoy

The evening started with Rev Peter saying grace before all tucked into a beautifully cooked fish and chip supper.  Delicious home-baked mince pies and Portuguese custard tarts were then produced by former volunteers, Jenny and David, as the dessert course

fishchip 2017bVolunteer Coordinator, Kathy, and her assistant for the evening, Sammy, prepared the room and cleared away but still wholeheartedly joined in the fun

After the meal, Port Chaplain, Rev Peter Paine, on behalf of the board of directors, thanked all volunteers for their dedication throughout the year

The Deputy Mayor, on behalf of the borough, thanked the volunteers and board for the dedicated work they do supporting seafarers who serve the town

A wonderful time was had by all
